The pier fishing rod holder is an idea by a
couple of guys that love to fish. It developed into a side project for
them and has had great reviews from anyone who has gotten one. It is
like you have a buddy keeping watch over your rod while you relax and
fish.
As an avid fisherman traveling to Texas to
visit his sister and go fishing from the piers in Galveston Bay, I
would get frustrated with the fact that you either had to lean your rod
against the pier rail or “bungee cord” it in place so you could keep an
eye on it. As fate would have it, bigger fish would bite and either
pull the rod into the water, in which case I would lose a few Buck$$$$
in my pole investment, or it would snap the pole off somewhere between
the tip and midway down the end of the rod! There were the few times
the rod would simply disappear over the top and into the water! Not to
even mention the fact that if you lay your poles down on the pier you
could accidentally kick them into the water! OR step on them breaking
something!
So as I thought of a way to develop
something to assist me in my pier fishing trips, I went to my garage
and started to experiment with an idea. I bent some stainless steel
wire I had laying around to fit onto a 2” X 4” standard board like the
railings at the pier where I fished in Texas. It was crude buy any
standard. But it looked like it would do the job. I made a few of these
and my next trip to the pier I took them along to “test” them out. I
was pleasantly surprised to see how well, even as crude as they were,
they worked! I even had people coming up and asking where did I get
such a thing. One even offered me money to buy one! After seeing it
work I knew I had improve on it. That is when The Ching-A-Dero ® was
born.
My name is Keith R. Bloodgood. I have been
working in the metal trades for almost 30 years when this came into
being. This project started in 2004, 2005 and has taken a lot of time
to develop into the quality design and materials used. I knew I
couldn’t offer it unless I believed in it myself first! Within a few
months I developed the rod holder into a manufactured product so I
could offer it to others who liked to fish as I did. I have used these
for sometime now and I am very pleased in how easy and how well they
perform. I have finally put my stamp of approval on them and have even
sent a few out to be “product tested” by some of the places I have
listed as links on my website. I started the website as a way for
others who pier fish to get one of these if they wanted one. I have
heard nothing but praise from anyone who has gotten one. So I know they
are a quality product. I invite you to try one for yourself and see how
well and trusted you can be in them.
